The Candle Flame

As a candle, when it is lit, pushes away the darkness,
May the light of the Divine that burns within each one of us
Push away the darkness of the material world that surrounds us
And open us to see beyond to the essence of that which we truly are.

(I wrote this some time ago and gave it as a Christmas present, along with a candle, to my family & friends, as a symbol of what Christmas represents for me - I think that I would now write it differently)
Will have to think about it though!! :-)
