About Me:

Like most of us I had my first experience of the divine when I was very young. Although most of us tend to forget, it seemed to stick to me, probably because I was born Sun conjunct Neptune, the mystic planet - I was born to be a mystic!!  :)
For me, it was when I was 3. Since then I have tried to walk the path back to the One, and have had a number of spiritual experiences, including kundalini experiences, but at the moment I'm not sure where I am in my journey. I have not really told many people of my journey as I seem to be wary of being betrayed - apparently a legacy from at least one past life when I was killed for preaching the Gospel of Jesus. I also once had a memory, during a spiritual healing session, of an experience of being burnt at the stake.
I subscribe to What Is Enlightenment? (WIE?) magazine. When I first came upon it I bought as many back copies as were available at the time, and am now working my way through them.
I have also recently read, After the Ecstasy, the Laundry by Jack Kornfield (hence my title), and am currently reading Putting on the Mind of Christ by Jim Marion. Have also just read his other book, The Death of the Mythic God. These three books have been, and are, a great help to me.
I work as a VET teacher at dual sector university in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, teaching in the area of computing, and am growing weary of this.
I meditate each day, and at the moment I am finding it hard work. I feel like I've been in a Dark Night for most of the last 35 years, and am slowly working my way through it. Still a long way to go, I think!  :) The books are helping me to recognize that I need to keep going. Although, according to Marion, the Dark Night is much shorter, and I perhaps have some other malady!! :)
I have a degree in Psychology, and have recently completed IKON diplomas in Transpersonal Counselling and Transpersonal Art Therapy with Phoenix Institute, here in Victoria, Australia. However, I'm not practicing as a counsellor at this time. I also have a postgrad. qual in computing, and a teaching qual.
I'm very interested in Ken Wilber and his AQAL Integral theories, and the way that they are being taken up in the world. I tend to be a bit wary of the absolutism that seems to be arising around it ,though.
In the last few months I'm realising more an more that my passion, since I was very young (and apart from the spiritual yearning - which I am sure is a part of all of us) is architecture, or, at least, architectural drawing. So I want to do more of this. And I've been reinspired by the latest edition of WIE? magazine!!
Namaste.  :)
